March 2026 Recap

Table of Contents

March has been a little rough for me. I didn't do that much, honestly. I got sick multiple times and my flare ups have also been pretty bad. I've been exhausted and not as motivated to work on anything, but I'm hoping to turn that around in April.

Crocheting

I found this fingerless glove pattern that I really like. It's pretty simple so you don't have to think too hard while doing it, and they're pretty comfy when they're finished. I'll make sure to share some photos once I get my image gallery up and running!

Puzzles

In an attempt to combat my brainfog and keep my brain from atrophying I've started doing more puzzles. I've been playing Tiled Words and Clues by Sam everyday. I already have a 23 day streak on Tiled Words! Tiled Words is about the same difficulty everyday, while Clues by Sam starts easy on Monday and gets harder as the week progresses.

I've also been making the most out of my Rubik's cube. I already learned how to solve it a while ago, but I've been working on speedsolving it recently and I've gotten pretty good. At the beginning of the month I could solve it in just under five minutes, and now I'm able to do it in about three and a half minutes. That's probably not too impressive to most competitive speedcubers, but I'm still proud of it.

As an aside, My YouTube recommendations are now mostly videos about Rubik's cubes. Many of them are not-so-subtle ads for online stores that sell variants of Rubik's cubes or 3D puzzles similar to Rubik's cubes. Honestly I'm kind of tempted to buy one anyway just because the standard 3x3x3 gets boring after a while. I am not immune to advertising!

Site Stuff

Eleventy is now Build Awesome

For those in IndieWeb spaces, you've probably already heard that Eleventy is now Build Awesome. A while back Eleventy became part of Font Awesome, and is now being rebranded to better match with other Font Awesome projects and to allow for monetization. Brennan Kenneth Brown has written about this on their blog in "The End of Eleventy" and "Build Awesome's Kickstarter is Cancelled". Both posts give a good overview of the situation.

I use Eleventy to make this site, so this is kind of a big deal to me. Some people are already jumping ship to other Static Site Generators. I think I'm going to stick around and see what happens. I've put a lot of work into my site, and I really don't want to go through completely rebuilding it from scratch if I can.

So far, there hasn't been anything too egregious. "Build Awesome" hasn't shoehorned in AI, or locked features that were previously free behind a paid tier. All my plugins and scripts work exactly how they did before. Nothing about the actual user experience of using Eleventy has changed. If I didn't follow anyone online, I might not have noticed the rebrand at all. I'm hoping things stay this way, fingers crossed!

Migrating My Backlog

I'm considering moving some old blog posts, art, and projects from previous websites to this site for posterity. It'd be more actual content for you guys, but also just good for archival purposes. I'm still debating it though. A lot of the stuff I'd be sharing was made during a period of my life where I wasn't very happy, and a part of me doesn't want to be reminded of it, or have people immediately think of it when they first meet me/stumble upon my site. I'll have to really think about it.

I also have some projects I never finished that I kind of want to clean up and officially post, and several projects that I want to start. That's all after I'm finished with my work on updating the main site though. I work at a snails pace, so maybe don't get too excited.

Gaming

A lot of fun stuff has been happening with game franchises I like! Stardew Valley just celebrated it's 10-year anniversary and has a new major update in the works. The demo for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream released recently. I haven't had the time/energy to play it myself yet, but other people online seem to be enjoying it a lot and it bodes well for the games full release in April. Chapter 5 of Deltarune and Rhythm Heaven Groove are also slated to come out some time this year, and we're already three months into the year! They're getting closer everyday!

Media

Watching

I've been watching the Chair Company lately. I just finished episode 5. I've been liking it so far. I'm pretty sure I've liked everything I've seen Tim Robinson in.

What I’m Looking Forward to in April

I'm pretty excited for the full release of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream! I also have some work-related stuff coming up that I can look forward to. I'm going to try to be more productive in April, so I guess I'm excited to try out some new methods for that.

Overall

I'm trying my best. I'm trying to get back on my feet after a long time of not being able to do anything. I feel bad for not being productive in basically all aspects of my life. Work, friendships, even this website! Hopefully things will improve from here on out.
